Good evening ladies and gentlemen.

You will start to read this and think, “Christ! More money wanted…”.

I know it’s a hard thing to come by, this is why I hope you will forward this message on to your contacts and/or boss at work. Of course, an individual can help us too, but it would benefit a company with the advertisement they would receive throughout the season. It would be great for any local business to get on board with MagpieWatch, as it’s a great second option to sponsoring the club. Albeit, money we get doesn’t go directly to the club but if enough was created then a donation would be made through various other sponsorships they have on offer.

Well, I will get down to the money side of things really. Here is a list of items that we are looking at purchasing in order to improve the service we provide. There are of course items that aren’t essential, but would improve the actual entertainment quality. I will explain next to each why they are needed. So, here goes…

Items in bold are an necessity

* Laptop (Aprox. £500) - You might be thinking, hang on a minute, they managed perfectly alright when Jue was around last time. You would be incorrect. My laptop has all my person stuff on there too, music, pictures and website crap that you don’t really want to know about. Since I’ve been away, a little misfortune happened to it aswell so half of the keys are now missing. Now, onto Ian’s laptop… Where to begin? Those that know about technology, Ian’s is still stuck in the 1980s, no offence meant to Mr Livesey. It has managed to do the job whilst I have been away, but what most people don’t know is that when down in Plymouth, half of the workload was done by myself. You may have noticed, if I wasn’t around for a game, then comments wouldn’t be done much, sometimes not at all. This is part of the service that makes it enjoyable, the banter we get between teams and the comments that we can discuss throughout the game too. I will stop banging on about that now, but as you can probably tell, a dedicated “MagpieWatch Laptop” would be spot on as it would contain nothing apart from what was needed for our service.

* Audio Mixer (Aprox. £100 or less) – Yes, we’re back to this whole trick again. You may have noticed that it’s not in bold, well it could be, but we thought as it only increases entertainment value and not actual quality I thought maybe it’s a later investment. As most of you know, the only way to get two people talking through the radio (Unless it’s done the way Ian did it when Jack Dorney was with us) is to have an audio mixer with two headsets going in and yada yada…

* Mobile Broadband (Aprox £30 per month) – As you are probably aware by now, the amount I bang on about this, the connection to the world wide web is done via a mobile phone. This is Ian’s personal phone, his “contract” ect… It would be idea if we had mobile broadband package to back up his phone. If a) It decides to give in b) Signal is not good enough c) He needs it for an emergency.

* Donations (Give me your bank details!) – Aside from the stuff we need, there is a small price to pay each month for our hosting, anything that’s left over is used to pay for anything that’s needed. There hasn’t been enough in there for us to actually purchase the items above, so that’s why we’re still asking. If everyone chipped in, say a fiver a week, that would be astounding given our user numbers. Note: I am not suggesting that people did this, as I know it’s hard to 1) Commit to it 2) It’s nice to have a free service. We are not Chester, we will never ask people to pay each game or for a “season ticket”, Club Network Player can go do one as far as I’m concerned, plus I think Locki would have something to say about that.

I’ll stop boring you now, thank you for reading my garbage. If you would like anymore information, I am available on here, Facebook, Twitter ect. ect. Details are easily found out…

Bye!

A bit short notice, but Runshaw College are doing a charity event in aid of both Derian House and ourselves! They have organised a casino night for Wednesday 2nd May in the social club. Doors open at 7:30pm for a 8pm start. For more details read on…

The price is £10 – Includes $20,000 chips for the casino, food, auction and music.

Here are more details about the event courtesy of John Derbyshire

Students from Runshaw College (Public Services Academy ) have put together an evenings entertainment to raise funds for Derian House and Chorley Football Club.

They have been selling Derian House / Chorley FC wristbands at £1 each to raise funds to cover the cost of the event. Monies then collected from ticket sales / admission and then from the auction etc, will be divided between Derian House and the Football Club.

This is a brilliant spirited gesture by the students from Runshaw College who have already sold seventy tickets for the evening.
We would like to offer remaining tickets to Chorley FC fans to attend and support the event. If you would like to reserve your ticket at just £10 which includes food and $20,000 of casino chips then please call John Derbyshire on 07966 308578 or email johnderbyshire@hotmail.co.uk

We are also hoping to run the horse racing as well to add enjoyment to what promises to be a great night.

There are some astounding efforts by people all over the country to raise money for nationwide and local charities. The latest one I have heard about has come from a Chorley Football Club supporter. Neil Hailwood, along with several other cyclists are getting on their bikes from Skipton to Chorley along the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, in aid of Derian House Childrens Hospice and Clic Sargent Cancer Care For Children.

Exactly 100 days from now, Neil and his ‘team’ will embark on their journey along the canal. Help make their trip worthwhile by sponsoring them, every penny counts! You can visit their sponsor page to donate, Neil has created a Facebook event for the ride which has attracted 18 other participants.

Please, please, help out two fantastic charities. Visit their websites for more information about what they do and what they hope to achieve.

This was fully supported by FC United of Manchester and Bury’s stewards, a nice peaceful protest by supporters causes no harm, does it?

Northwich supporters had decided to show Jim Rushe the red card, holding aloft red cards on specific times throughout the game. 18th and 74th minute, replicating “1874″, the year Northwich Victoria Football Club was founded. These protests were fantastically supported by the FC United of Manchester fans, whom also held red cards up for them.

The protests did not go so great though as there is a huge rift between the fans of Northwich. Just like any club, there are loyal supporters of the chairman, these really did not like their chairman being told to leave (Not in so many nice words neither!). Arguments and fighting broke out amongst the supporters leaving FCUM to sit back and think, “What do they want from their club?”. To add insult to injury, on both occasions, Jim Rushe himself stood up and held a red card towards the travelling fans, as seen to the right.

From a personal view, what sort of a TEAM supporter would you be if you stuck behind a chairman who was ‘sending off’ his own supporters and main source of income. If Northwich locals want their town to be represented through football, then you all really need to stick together. Those that still want to be part of Rushe and his antics of destroying a, what seems much loved club, then

leave them to it. It can be done, FC United of Manchester and Chester to name a few. There is also AFC Liverpool, they might not have been successful straight away, but they are a fan run club who did not like the way things where going before.

I once again, send out my greatest sympathy to Northwich Victoria supporters whom have shown their emotion and feelings towards Rushe and want a club within their town. It is now time, for one individual to step forward and kick-start a phoenix club.

Current chairman, Jim Rushe, appealed against the Evo-Stik Northern Premier Leagues decision to terminate Northwich Victoria’s membership, relegating them at the end of the current season. They have also be barred from playing in this seasons promotional play-offs. The appeal is to be heard on Tuesday, stay tuned for more news!
