Our future

Good evening ladies and gentlemen.

You will start to read this and think, “Christ! More money wanted…”.

I know it’s a hard thing to come by, this is why I hope you will forward this message on to your contacts and/or boss at work. Of course, an individual can help us too, but it would benefit a company with the advertisement they would receive throughout the season. It would be great for any local business to get on board with MagpieWatch, as it’s a great second option to sponsoring the club. Albeit, money we get doesn’t go directly to the club but if enough was created then a donation would be made through various other sponsorships they have on offer.

Well, I will get down to the money side of things really. Here is a list of items that we are looking at purchasing in order to improve the service we provide. There are of course items that aren’t essential, but would improve the actual entertainment quality. I will explain next to each why they are needed. So, here goes…

Calling all interviewers!

Due to other commitments, our two regular interviewers can not make it to training on Thursday nights anymore. This is now your chance to get your voice over MagpieWatch and join our small team! There a few requirements for you to be able to apply for this role, you must have:

  • Your own recording device – We currently don’t have one. It’s something we’re looking at purchasing.
  • Confidence when speaking – No point speaking to the floor whilst interviewing someone!
  • Own transport – Whether it’s a lift or your own car, training is at Victory Park so you need to be able to get there

I would like to have an interview aired at half time on Saturday, so reply quick! If you thinking you can help us out, then please contact myself via Facebook, Twitter or email.

Target 1 – Reached

A few days ago, I posted a message on MagpiesInSpace, asking people to support us by donating towards the service. This message got out there, and people have been donating. We have managed to reach our first target of £200+, which means we have enough to pay for the radio software.

Sponsorship and donations

When MagpieWatch first started a year ago, it cost absolutely nothing to maintain due to my connections and the equipment I had to my disposal. As things stand, we can afford to run MagpieWatch for quite a few months more, however, the equipment that we are using is slowly starting to give in.

Happy Birthday!

On a cold Tuesday night in Chorley, I decided to start a new venture called MagpieWatch. A whole year has passed and low-and-behold, the service is still here, mainly thanks to the “team”… By team I mean myself and Ian Livesey!

We’re back!

Welcome back

MagpieWatch is officially back in business! I know we have been gone a while, and we send out our apologise for that. It is the same website as before, with the same features. Sorry for the delay with getting the site back, hopefully it won’t disappear again!

Chorley v Ashton and my upcoming interview with the boss.

Got to admit, I dont think anyone will begrudge visitors Ashton United a point in today’s game. They looked a good side for spells during the match and a draw is a fair result. Shame it was  in the 94th minute though as today also saw Chester come from 1-2 down to win 3-2 with  themselves scoring a last minute goal. And Northwich extended their lead at the top with a 2-0 win at Matlock. Something Chorley couldn’t do a week ago.
